Aiken is for Artists
🎨 🖌 One thing I love about Aiken, South Carolina as an amateur doodler and serious appreciator of all things beautiful and lovely is the strong creative art scene.
There are many wonderful places to see and create art in Aiken. The Aiken Center for the Arts (gallery, shop, art shows, lectures and classes & courses in a wide variety of mediums.), My Studio (Carolyn Bohn's Atelier), The Ark Nook (art classes for kids and adults) and Biscuits and Glazy (pottery painting studio for kids and adults) just to name a few.
In September, there's also an annual two day crafts fair called Aiken's Makin' that brings in artisians from all over. Their tents stretch over several city blocks downtown.
