Citizens Park: A Tale of Two Parks

Citizens Park in Aiken, SC is on the corner of Banks Mill Road and Pine Log road, and depending on the season and the time of day, you will get two very different impressions!

By night and on most weekends during the spring, summer, and fall months, Citizens is a bustling recreational complex. The parking lot is crammed with cars attending youth baseball, softball, and soccer games. Huge stadium lights wash the fields with bright light at night and enthusiastic crowds of parents and family cheer on their young superstars!

But come during the day as I often do, and you'll have the place nearly to yourself! In the summer, the splash park may be busy with young children playing, but the paved perimeter walking path and manicured wide open fields will be serene and peaceful.

The park is safe and well-maintained, with restrooms and trash bins available, and free parking.

Right next door is the new Good Girl Brewery, a new dogs-welcome venue for lunch, dinner, and craft beer, open every day of the week except Monday. I haven't been there yet, but Atticus and I can't wait to check it out!

A super way to finish a nice dog walk in the park. Enjoy a little photographic stroll through the park with me & Atti!
